FAQ

Are baseboard and casing calculated separately?

Yes. Door and window casing remain a separate run from baseboard since they are usually bought and cut differently.

Does baseboard length subtract door openings?

Enter net wall perimeter with door openings already subtracted, or use Room Layout perimeter which accounts for openings.

Why is waste applied to trim?

Trim waste covers miter cuts, splices, and damaged pieces, and is applied before rounding up to whole linear feet or pieces.

Can I enter more than one door or window?

Yes. Add more doors or windows to the comma-separated list, each as its own width x height pair.

Why does interior vs. exterior matter?

Interior and exterior trim use different profiles and materials (MDF or finger-joint indoors; PVC, composite, or weather-rated wood outdoors), so exterior work defaults to a higher waste allowance for weather-cut handling. Both defaults stay editable.
